The New York Yankees were the first team to begin regularly wearing uniform numbers. A tradition dating back to 1929.  This website attempts to make it easy to find who wore what numbers in what year.  It's not 100% complete, so if there's any information you can help us with, please feel free to contact us.

Regular Season vs. New York Mets
Burnett One-Hits Mets
Saturday, June 27, 2009
Final Score: 5-0
Yankee Classic Rating (1 low to 10 high): 2
Once again...a "Classic?"  Not really.  Burnett didn't even go all the way.  He only one-hit them over seven innings and walked three guys.  Plus, just look at the Mets lineup...not exactly their A squad.  This one just seems forced to me.  Why a two rating you ask?  Once again...it's always nice to see the Yanks spank the Mets.  I don't care how bad they are because Mets fans wouldn't care if the Yankees were beat up, now would they?  You know they wouldn't.
